Behind Mama Celine's Wheel (2019)

Rwanda is celebrated for championing gender equality in Africa, the constitution requires women to hold at least 30% of all elected positions. This has led to at least 49 women entering into parliament; that figure is 61 percent—the highest in the world and four of the seven supreme court seats are held by women.

While women are gaining ground in many sectors, quite a few women are getting involved in male-dominated informal sectors like the Transportation business.

Ernestine Mukagihana called 'Mama Celine' by her colleagues is one of those many women challenging these stereotypes by driving passengers on long haul journeys daily. She is passionate about driving and has done so exceedingly well for over a decade.
